Conflicts of Interest, Secondary Employment, and Anti-Corruption

All staff must disclose any secondary employment or professional activities outside the university that could interfere with their university duties or present a conflict of interest, in accordance with applicable university and state regulations (e.g., Art. 81 BayBG, BayHIG).

Staff are also required to comply with applicable anti-bribery and anti-corruption laws. It is prohibited to accept gifts, benefits, or favors in connection with university duties unless explicitly permitted under public service regulations. Even minor gifts or invitations must be reported and approved according to the university’s compliance guidelines.

  • Injuries (including minor ones) must be reported in a notebook.

Documentation of working hours

Bild
  • Student research assistants are required to document their working hours using the report sheet.
  • Reports are submitted to the Team Assistant's office on a monthly basis (no later than the 7th).
  • Reports are signed by the student assistant and the professor.
  • They are archived in 19.XXXXXX.

Data protection

  • DSGVO: Rechtmäßigkeit, Datensparsamkeit, Zweckbindung, Datensicherheit, Transparenz
  • Handle sensitive data, such as student names, student-id and grades, with the utmost care and respect for privacy.
  • Only collect, store, and share sensitive data when necessary and in compliance with applicable privacy laws and regulations.

Diversity and gender sensitive language

  • Aufgabe aller bayerischen Universitäten ist, Diversität und Geschlechtergleichstellung zu fördern sowie Diskriminierungen entgegenzuwirken (vgl. Art. 2 Abs. 5 und Art. 25 Abs. 2 BayHIG). Denn das Diskriminierungsverbot aufgrund von Geschlecht ist im Grundgesetz verankert (Art. 3 Abs. 3 Satz 1 GG) und die Universität in ihrer Funktion als Arbeitgeberin zum Diskriminierungsschutz verpflichtet.
  • Bayerische Staatsregierung hat laut Kabinettsbericht am Dienstag, den 19.3.2024, eine Änderung der Allgemeinen Geschäftsordnung für die Behörden des Freistaates Bayern (AGO) beschlossen. Sie besagt, dass im dienstlichen Schriftverkehr künftig Wortbinnenzeichen zur Geschlechterumschreibung (Gender-Gap, Genderstern, Doppelpunkt oder Mediopunkt) ausdrücklich unzulässig sind.

Whistleblower and Complaint Procedures

For confidential reporting of ethical violations, harassment, discrimination, or other misconduct:

  • For Scientific Misconduct (Wissenschaftliches Fehlverhalten), reports can be made to the Ombudsperson(s) or the Permanent Commission for Investigating Allegations of Scientific Misconduct at University of Bamberg.

  • For discrimination or harassment (AGG), contact antidiskriminierung@uni‑bamberg.de; formal complaints are handled by the Complaints Unit as per § 13 AGG.
  • For all types of harassment, bullying, and sexual boundary violations: follow the “Grenzen Wahren” guidelines and reach out to your faculty’s Equal Opportunity Officer, the Personnel Council, Justiziariat, or Anti-Discrimination Office. All procedures guarantee confidentiality and impartial handling.
