Week 1: Topics
In week 1, we start with the introductory session, covering the project outline and goals, explaining how groups will form and how contributions will be evaluated. We will start exploring the context of open-source projects and discuss any questions that may come up. There is no need to register for the session or project in advance. We look forward to meeting you!
In this session, our goal is to familiarize with open-source projects on GitHub.
Tasks to complete in this week:
Create a GitHub account.
We will need the GitHub account for the Git and Python sessions. In these sessions, we use GitHub Codespaces as a state-of-the-art development environment. You will also need the GitHub account to contribute to issue discussions, create a fork for your project, and ultimately have your work reviewed and merged. All information on how to do that will be covered in the following sessions.
Contribute to the issue discussions to form teams (deadline).
To find a group, read the open issues for the relevant milestone and contribute to the discussion (navigate to the CoLRev project, and the Issues / Milestones section).
